John Duberstein, J.D.
John Duberstein is the Deputy Title VI Coordinator and Case Manager on CSNDR’s NDAB and Title IX Compliance Team. John supports the University’s program for handling complaints of antisemitism, islamophobia, and other forms of discrimination, including processing formal complaints, training for students, staff, and faculty, data tracking and reporting, and informal resolution.
John joined Harvard from Boston University, where he served as a Civil Rights Investigator in BU’s Equal Opportunity Office. In that role, he worked on investigations of alleged violations of university policies, including allegations of shared ancestry discrimination. Prior to joining BU, John spent time in private practice, where his practice included advising educational institutions and other employers on compliance with civil rights laws, and served for nearly a decade as an assistant federal public defender. John received his JD with honors from UNC Chapel Hill and his BA in History with honors from Penn State and clerked for the Federal District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. In addition, John has been certified in alternative dispute resolution.
