Cherita Cloy

SHARE Counselor & Community Engagement Specialist

In Cherita’s role as a SHARE Counselor and Community Engagement Specialist  she provides confidential counseling, advocacy, and accompaniment for survivors of power-based interpersonal violence and those who support them. This includes any member of the Harvard community who has experienced sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking, abusive relationships, discrimination on the basis of gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation, or are uncertain about an interpersonal experience and want support.

Her approach to therapeutic and advocacy support is based on empowerment through relational care practices. From years of experience working with trauma survivors, Cherita understands the importance of cultural, spiritual, and empathic attunement to improve one’s overall functioning.

Cherita earned a doctorate in counseling psychology and religion at Boston University, where she also worked as a crisis counselor at the Sexual Assault Response & Prevention Center (SARP).
